I have a friend that wants to ship a vehicle to his family in Guatemala?

preferably by boat. Is there anyone out there that has shipped a vehicle to another country? Or has information about someone who has done this?If so can you please tell us where to begin?

  1. call an international shipping agency  most large coastal cities have them and they will run you through the requirements    check the yellow pages  in the port cities like houston  la  new york  san francisco etc


  2. By boat would be your best bet.  My mother in law did it a few years ago.  There are several companies that will do it, you basically pay for a cargo container for them to ship it in and then someone will have to claim it with proper paperwork once it arrived in Guatemala and pay any taxes for the import.

  3. lots of general cargo moves from the USGULF to guatemala.  Check with a freight forwarder.  look it up in the phone book.  autos will sometimes go as deck cargo or in a box.  i know that trailer-bridge out of jacksonville carries cars for the auto factories to peurto rico and they have specialezed containers for autos.
