Hes currently using an imac for his video editing and doesn’t find the mac to be fast enough. Any help would be appreciated

  1. I don't know about Ultra Grip-We don't have them in Europe.But the specs are ok.Get a Core 2 Duo-not a quad, not to many editing programs get along with quad-not yet.

    A 500GB or more HDD would be great


  2. I bought a Dell XPS 420 with monitor and speakers for $999 at Walmart. I bought Sony Vegas Pro 8 for $350 (Or so, this was a year ago and I don't remember the specifics.) I did have to ad a $150 firewire hard drive (WD 500 GB MY BOOK)

    If this puts you  over your limit, you might go with Vegas Platinum Propack for around $150, or possibly New Tek Speed Edit for around $300.

    Optionally, add the maximum amount of ram to the Imac you can. It is less money than a new machine.
