I have a friend thats from france.He doesnt know where to start on getting his motorcycle license?

He moved to illinios from france.He has his drivers license from france I guess he is able to use it in illinios because he is here on a scholorship for school, so here doesnt have a social security card or anything.So would he be able to get a motorcycle license and if he can how would he go about getting one?

He has to get an M1 license. He can just take the proper test

( written and driving test) for the M1. Or my opinion is to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation or MSF class, which will bypass the driving test part upon completion of that class. They go over and test you on the skills part. Which is way more enjoyable than the dmv's version. Plus upon completion

insurance rates are lower. If he's under 21 he has to do the MSF anyway. It's a much better route. If u need more info get back to me. Good Luck!

The French are not allowed to ride bikes in the U.S.A.

If he is caught the bike will be confiscated by Barack Obama

(1) go to DMV and pick up a driver manual and motorcycle manual - study

(2) take the written test - pass

(3) practice with a licensed rider

(4) or take a rider's course. MSF course will actually give a license when the course is passed (in most states).

(5) take the road test - pass

(6) be happy

Same as any license go to the DMV and ask them for the requirement in your state and go from there

Your friend should contact the nearest French Consulate for a lit of documents to bring with him to the US, in order to transfer his existing car license.
