Question:

I have a friend with a Direct Tv Plus DVR. Can I record his programs onto DVD for him?

This friend doesn't have a DVD recorder, and would like some UNLV basketball games recorded, that he had Recorded on his DVR. No Copyright infingement involved!

  1. Connect your DVD recorder to the S or composite outputs on the DVR. Playback on the DVR and record. Don't forget the audio cables.


  2. If his DVR is active, you can hook it up at your house (without satellite cables) and watch shows that have been recorded in his My Playing List.  It will say Searching for satellite signal, because it is well...searching for the satellite that its not hooked up to.  :)  All you have to do is press the exit button (on the remote) and then press the List button, and this will bring up the list of shows your friend has recorded.  Youve got it set up the right way to your tv.  If it will not pull up the my playing list, you can also press the menu button and select on my playlist and it will also bring up the shows.
