We want to take a 6-7 day vacation in Canada, but we are not sure if she would have to get a visiting visa, or if she would be able to use her work visa, and passport????

  1. Your friend will need a visa. Regardless of what U.S. Visa she has, Canada is a sovereign nation and has it own immigration laws. Your friend will be able to enter without a visa if she/he has a U.S. Green Card and per the text from the official Canadian webpage on visas:

"persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence."

So a Green Card is another option. If not contact your closest Candian consulate. A list of them (in the U.S.) can be found here:

  2. i think she still need to get a visit visa.

to make sure tell her to go to the nearest Canadian Embassy for more info.

  3. since your friend has been legally admitted to the USA :

persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence.

    you friend

may enter Canada without a visa :-)
