I have a front loader washer, what is the best detergent?

I know I have to use he, but which brand is the best for overall cleaning and mostly for odors?

I have a baby and I understand the odors! I was using Sunlight detergent (generic) and it was awful. It set in the stains and made spit up smell fifty times worse. I switched to Tide and I am satisfied. I also like Gain, it's comparable in quality and it smells better than Tide. For front load washers, they make HE detergent that is supposed to run better and I guess it makes less bubbles.

I use All Small & Mighty HD in mine.  I actually like the green scent best.  I started using this prior to my front-loader because Tide was so expensive and really like it.

I just made a huge batch of homemade detergent with washing soda and Borax and a bar of grated Ivory soap. It is wonderful, smells great and works well in my HE machine.   I used reciped #2 in the link below and got all my ingredients from drugstore.com  and got free shipping. II add a squirt of Dr. Bronner's peppermint castile to the load too.  I  have enough liquid  detergent made  to last me all year !

Note: Use 1/4 to 1/2 cup per load in the HE machine.

We love Method in our house. It's biodegradable and is derived from natural sources. We have a top-load, but the bottle is actually made for front load machines. You can find it at Target stores.

It does great at eliminating odors and stains. My husband is a mechanic and we have 2 kids, a boy and a girl. It works very well, even on the nastiest clothes. :-)

That is really a personal choice.

We use Tide, because some others cause irritation or don't seem to clean our clothes as well as Tide.

I ALWAYS use the extra rinse option as well.

~~Whatever you like. I use Kirkland brand (Costco's) in mine. But anything HE is fine. I love the smell of Gain the best, but for as much as I wash it's not to economical for me. I think they are all pretty much the same in quality.

Any good name brand, as long as it's liquid. I had to go and look, but my wife uses Gain, Mango Tango. She feels it cleans our son's sport clothes and whites, well.

he!!!!!! HE products are the only thing you should use period.but tide he is GREAT! and gain.
