I have a fuel problem i think?

i was driving my sons 90 ford probe and it just died one .i had it towed home .about 3 days later it started and ran for about 30 min. and then died again. it will idle. but anything over 3000 rpms it just dies real quick.

  1. Replace fuel filter

    check all hoses that have fuel in them (could be sucking shut when heating up)

    May have an injector going bad

    May have a sensor going bad

    My advice would be to take it to a trusted mechanic and he can do a diagnostic test on it. Most cars today should be able to pinpoint what the problem is with diagnostic test.


  2. probably the fuel filter like he said, it is unlikely a fuel injector as that just normally causes a misfire. it probably isnt a fuel pump because when a fuel pump goes bad it doesnt start working again. as far as the fuel lines go ford uses mostly metal lines and plastic, ive been working on ford for a long time havent seen a line suck closed unless the cars is more than 30 years old, start with the fuel filter and go from there
