  1. 4 digging just remember 2 not swing ur arms. 4 sets just try 2 get under the ball, it should hit ur forehead if u would happen 2 miss. dont b worried ur coaches should understand if u mess up on ur first game but just try 2 have fun and chill out. if ur school is really competitive about volleyball and ur afraid 2 mess up just ask 2 not play and u feel that ur not up 2 it

  2. first off, if you completely sucked at digging and setting, you wouldn't be on the team.

second off, it is nearly impossible to completely teach someone how to dig and set over the internet. you need to pay close attention to your coaches and practice practice practice.

digging. the primary objective is to GET UNDER THE BALL. if you have to dive on your face, do it. get that ball into the air. digging is almost identical to passing (bumping). make sure to stay on your toes and watch the hitter on the other team. staying on your toes will give you more mobility and agility rather than sitting back on your heels. anticipate the attack and be ready for the tip or deflection off of the block. try and read her body language and look at where her hips are pointing. that will give you a better idea of where the ball is going.

setting. open your hands, spread your fingers and make a window with your index fingers and thumbs. watch the ball through your window. now, when you set, assuming that you know basics, use your legs to power the ball into the air. immediately and simultaneously push the ball and snap your fingers shut (like a clam shell) to propel the ball forward. dont forget to follow through.

in all honesty, you will only get better with lots and lots of practice. have confidence in yourself. and it is very rare that one person causes an team to lose. if you are playing poorly, then your coach will pull you out and put someone else in. dont take it personally, you are a part of a team now. good luck!

  3. Setting: remember to use your legs to push through the ball and keep your hands soft. If you can't set, just bump it.

Digging: stay low and keep your elbows locked.  Don't fall on your knees.  Fall on the side of your hip.  It's all about ball control.

Try not to be nervous.  When you're relaxed and warmed up you'll be a lot better than you think.  Don't worry, you won't let your team down.  And, besides, it's your first game, so just get your nerves out.  It's natural, especially it being your first game ever.

  4. OMG i have a game this tuesday too!!! but anyways to help you with setting try setting the ball up in the air to your self and make sure you are hitting more with your finger tips then your palms idk really don't know how to explain i hoped i helped good luck

  5. If you suck at those two things the coach will most likely not put you in. That's how my coach handles our team. Because Setting and Digging are essential parts of a game, if you do them wrong you will not win. Practice everyday, set against a ball and have someone throw the ball to you but low to the ground so you have dive for it. Don't be afraid of the ground, if you are then you will hurt yourself.

  6. For setting just stick to the basics. Have loose fingers and set right on your forehead. For digging remember that you are like a board. Don't swing your arms because you don't have to. Also remember to get low. There is now way that you can loose the game for the WHOLE team. You go in as a team and you go out as a team. Good luck!

  7. If your not a setter than you dont really have to worry about setting.

When you dig just dont swing your arms and remember to keep them

    together.
