I have a ge universal remote, and lost the manuel. I forgot how to program the darn thing. How do you do it?

I have a cheap universal ge remote, and i have tried and tried to re-enter the codes. How do I get the codes back into the thing?

At first I didn't realize what the "Jasco Products"  site was but apparently they are the official "GE"  remote people under license from "GE".  Here's the web page on their site (link #2) which provides manuals and programming codes for the universal remotes:

Manually turn on the device you wish to program.

Step2Press the Code Search button on the remote until the indicator light turns on.

Step3Release the Code Search button.

Step4Press and release the button for the device you are programming.

Step5Enter the three-digit code for the device using the number buttons on the remote. After the code is entered, the indicator light turns off.

Step6Aim the remote at the device and press the power button. The device should turn off.

Step7Press Channel Up on the remote with the device on. If the device responds, no further programming is required.

look up "universal remote codes." online it will give you a listing by remote, t.v. type ect. it will also give you a list of codes to try with the directions to use them.
