I cant figure out why, before kiyoko and her sister are kidnapped by genisis' henchmen why her dad kept saying " im sorry, you know its not my fault"

anyone have any ideas?

some people depend on drugs as a way to deal with their emotions or for mental support. it allowed them to escape the world for a few moments and be careless. it also will relieve stress and physical pain in some people. others just do it to feel the rush of endorphines. they eventually become dependent on the substance to become happy or "normal" again. using drugs to deal with your problems maybe the easy choice, but it is not the efficient choice to fix the problem.
