I have a great board game I invented. I had some friends play it and they enjoyed it. It needs some tweaks and I have some other people (that don't know me) who will test it. But where do I go from here?

  1. Well... I have played lots of board games including Role-Playing Games and such. If you can, please send me a text with your basic ideas about the gameplay and the scenario and I will tell you my opinion... Now the answer to the question... If you want just fame and to share the game with as many as possible, you can upload it in multiple downloading sites (with its rules as well), you can take it to a game-creating company through a person you know that works for it or you can try to sell its rights to an even bigger company , if you want money, but it's very very dangerous and doesn't have any guarantee... Good Luck, though...

  2. Most established board game companies don't accept unsolicited submissions.

Smaller, independent game companies still do, though.

CheapAss Games (www.cheapass.com) has been around for *many* years and are pretty well-established, so the likelihood of them stealing you concept is pretty low.

Looney Labs (www.wunderland.com) is another one, though I don't know as much about them.

Beyond that, you can self-produce your own game. You can then attend game conventions as a developer and you can get the bigger companies to come see your game that way.

You can learn more about this approach at DiceTower (www.thedicetower.com/misc/advice1.htm)

    Good luck!

  3. Patent it.
