I have a great idea to increase the sales of a certain motorbike.?

The add will be very visible for impact with 3 characters in the add but the words used in the add will carry the biggest impact , my question is who do I contact with this idea?.

Unless there is a way in which you can protect your idea BEFORE you approach the manufacturer, you are taking a risk.

Would the company be able to take (pinch) your idea and then claim it as their own?

Give this aspect some serious thought.

If you tell them your idea, they could claim they had already thought of it, but deemed it useless.  Then in a couple of months they could use the idea and if you approached them, they would have the ready response - we changed our mind and decided to use OUR idea.

Difficult to explain like this, but hope you get the drift.

Is there any chance you could patent the idea or at the very least seek the advice of a patents or advertising solicitor or someone with experience in the legal side of such a problem?
