I grow up?!

Yes, it's true!! My dad was just chatting to me and I asked him if I could buy a cd off the internet and he said "sure, when you get your credit card at 18" and then he said " and for that you have to study in a good college and get a good job" and i was like "umm yeah"..

But I dont want to go a university and study all that!

I want to sing, act and live my dream!!

I play the guitar too

And im only 13 right now

My mom KINDA is ok with it, but always when I bring out the topic they (my parents) act like im just joking aroung and its just phase..

Pls help!! I dont want to design..

Either do I want to run away!!

Could you give an advice on how to persue my dream..I feel so discouraged (it happens often)

Help!!

  1. I think your dad is looking more on the realistic side of things.  Honestly chances are your not gonna become a professional singer, actor, and guitar player, its very completive out there.  So you should go to college JUST IN CASE the whole acting/singing thing doesn't work out so you have something to fall back on.

Your dad is just being realistic, but jewelry designer...wtf?

  2. you know yourself the best.

if singing and acting is your dream.. well go for it!

to start out join musicals and find ways to share your talents!

remember you are 13 and you have a while to decide.

    dream big. =)

  3. Why would you be a jewelry designer? Is that your family business or something?

Only you can decide what you want to be. I think it's awesome that you like acting and singing... But you know, there's colleges that specialize in Art and Music and all that.

    ;-)

That would be cool -- your parents would be happy you're in college and you'd be pursuing your dream, and not just through study.

Make a deal with them: if you keep it up in school, you can act, sing, etc. as much as you want.

You're too young to be thinking about your future carreer... Besides, you don't have to tell them you want to act... just tell them you don't think design is the right carreer for you.

Also, you could try learning other stuff to back you up between gigs -- an artist's life can be tough! I'm sure your parents think of this, and that's why they're afraid of you choosing this carreer. If you have a backup, so to speak, they'll ease up (this is where the "good grades = acting and music" bit comes in).

  4. Odds on being a teen celebrity are slim.

    Cold hard truth.

You can go to college for acting or singing or drama.

Don't let your parents run your life, you'll regret it.

At 13, you don't know what you want. You're mind will change many times before you really know. For now just be a kid, do what you like to do. You've got plenty of time to grow up and figure out your life.
