Take him to a restraunt that has halal meat

Either go to a Halal restaurant or just make sure they have options other than pork. Also if you go to a non-Halal restaurant make sure they have a good selection of vegetarian options too. Many Muslims in America will eat non-Halal meat, but just in case this particular friend does not, it will be good for them to have a vegetarian option.

im muslim, so i  can relate to this. try indian or pakistani cuisine because most of their food is halal. or they can pretty much eat anywhere as long as they avoid chicken, beef, pork etc. skip mexican and chinese because they use chicken broth.

I would suggest a couple of things.  One, call the restaurant a week or two ahead of time. Talk to the Executive Chef,  if he/she can't take care of your friend immediately then (if he/she is worth their salt) then he/she will find out exactly what to do.  Secondly...TALK TO YOUR FRIEND...it won't be an insult.  In fact your friend will probably appreciate your concern.

Only Subway is healthy! They serve food that muslins can eat, like bologna and green peppers! They also serve coke zero for muslims who like to watch their weight! Hillary Clinton eats at Subway and she will be the President who supports all people, including muslims. I am not a mulsim - but I read a book that talked about them. Therefore you should take all your friends to Subway. Subway is also a good place to take Chinese people because Hillary will be the next President!
