I have a gs80 and i just installed a firewire card to my xp computer...?

Question

the firewire card came with ULEAD and i installed the program and so i connected my mini dv video camera into the firewire and my computer rercognizes the device but the video camera will not do anything. is it suppose to turn on? how do i get my videos onto my computer now?

please help.

Snowwillow is correct - turn your camera on... I will add that the camcorder needs to be in "Play" mode. Also, there are some Panasonics that require you to plug the camera in to a working AC outlet with the AC adapter in order to transfer video. They don't want the transfer dying part-way through because the battery ran out...

You turn your camera on, when you start the capture, then your movie shows up in the preview screen.
