I have a one year old female guinea pig and was thinking about introducing a second. Thing is I spend a lot of time with her and I don't particularly want a second one. It's not that I don't want another but I don't do want another (sorry it's not clear but it does make sense!). What do you think I should do?

  1. If she has gotten a lot of human attention in the past, and is doing now , then she will be fine as long as you keep caring for her a lot.

On the other hand if you are busy working or doing other things then i suggest you do get her a pal to keep her company ( preferably a girl or you will wake up to lots of little squeaking babies racing around the hutch) just make sure she is the same breed, size and roughly age and introduce thenm carefully and slowly.

    Good luck!

  2. If you go out a lot, get her one so she has company. But if you play with her a lot, she should be fine. I don't really know what to say besides that. If you don't want to get her another one, put on the t.v. or radio when you leave.

  3. If some other breed of something got you and put you in a cage all alone, wouldnt you like to have a freind?

  4. I have 2 and during just the scchool year I never take them out so when I try to now it is HARD!! I'm saying if u have 1 and u want 2 dont get 2 cause 2 causes trouble w/ ur relationship w/ 1 u know?

  5. I think you should get her a friend. Guinea pigs are highly social herd animals and human interaction can never replace same species interaction. Why not adopt her a friend?: http://www.petfinder.com/
