  1. get him lots of tube things. it can even be paper towel tubes if you want.

not all like tubes but those that do often like hanging bird toys

make sure it can't break or fall apart

also it's fun to hang some veggies on clothespins and then hang it over their heads so they have to jump up to eat it

    ferret toys are often good

remember that they chew a lot and might eat through toys, so be ready to take one out if they rip it open

  2. What's stimulation?-

  3. go to petco and they have every little thing you will need mine love the grass balls with the bell in them

  4. Get her chubes or paper bags. You should also take her out for floor time. See if she likes plastic spoons. Lot's of guinea pigs enjoy tugging them around. Try it! Hope I helped! =D

  5. I wouldn't get any treats unless it's chew sticks from a petstore.  The fresh daily veggies you should be providing and the pellets and hay is food enough for them.  Change up the veggies and that is a wonderful "treat" for them.

toys you can buy at petco, but you can make many at home from items you were going to throw away.

paper bags, like a small lunch sized one with hay in it makes a good hide spot and a play place for your pig.

i used empty toilet paper or papertowel rolls and cut them lengthwise or your piggy can get stuck in them and stuff them with hay.  they love pulling the hay out and tossing around the roll when it's almost empty.

for mine i also have pvc pipes about 6 inches in diameter.  they love to  run through these and chase each other.

i also took a metal pencil keeper and mounted it to their cage and fill it with their veggies.   they love to climb up and see what treat i've left in there for them.

store wise i have a pig safe grass weaved ball with a bell in it they play with.  i have pumice stones to chew on and you can even get small cat balls for them to play with.  just make sure they can't chew it up or get to a bell inside of it.  the birds toys that hang from the cage is also a good toy and usually safe for guinea pigs.

  6. The best treats are not bought in any pet store. Piggies *love* baby carrots, a sprig of parsley, a slice of apple, etc. The treats in the stores are usually very high in sugar, dyes, and preservatives. None of which are good for your sweet pigger.

The best toys are ones you make yourself! Get a brown paper bag, roll the top (think of how you roll up your shirt sleeve) so the opening stays open, and stuff some hay in there. They love to run in & out of the bag or hide in the hay. This is a favourite of my herd. Also try 4" PVC tubes, which can be bought at a hardware store like Home Depot. You can make all different kinds of tunnel configurations for your piggie to explore. Try making a tent out of a towel and some extra C&C grids and combine this with the PVC tubing. Its a wonderful maze! Carefully place treats at the end of the tubes so they have something to look for when exploring.

Don't waste your money---be creative! Your piggie will enjoy it!

  7. you can create your own toys, theyre a lot cheaper than going to a pet store. you can use cardboard boxes for example. guinea pig love toys they can hide in so any kind of box, tube or guinea pig sized things you can find in your house. guinea pigs also love it when you hand food from a string from the top of their cage.
