I have a guinea pig question about cages?

Question

I have 2 grown male guinea pigs, in a cage that is not big enough. They used to fight but now I just see them laying around.

I wanted to get a cage and a rabbit hutch big enough for them without separating them.

What is the size requirement for 2 guinea pigs that are full grown and Were can I find a rabbit hutch in Oregon that doesn't cost too much?

If you look on the internet on how to build rabbit hutches, or Ebay.    I would get a cage that says "double cage" on it so that it is double the size as normal ones.

A fairly cheap and much better & roomy alternative is to build a pen.  They are sold as well, but can be built for @$50 yourself.

You will need storage crates (look like wire mesh but made of metal) that you can buy from Target or Bed Bath and Beyond.  The other item you will need to line the pen is called Choroplast.  It is a currogated plastic board.  You can usually find these at stores that make signs and they come in a variety of colors.

The link will have step by step instructions.  I was able to build mine in about an hour.  My piggies love the room, and I love the fact that it is so easy to clean!

Better (and cheaper) would be to make your own C&C cage.  Here's a how-to and site with tons of great info. I plan on making one over the weekend.

Your cage should be at least 8 square feet of space for 2 full grown pigs. Kijiji.com has used hutches in your local area. Just click on your city, then type in rabbit hutch.

Petsmart has good hutches, but they are rather pricey. You can get a nice discount with Petperks, but that depends on the sales.

It needs to be at least 28 inches by 42 inches.
