I have a guitar and my 12 fret won't play?

when ever i hit the 12 fret on my electric guitar the 12 fret won't play it play like a buzzing noise instead of a smooth tone i don't know whats wrong can anybody help me plzz need some help

  1. The string is vibrating against the lower frets. You should adjust the bridge at the bottom a little (loosen the string first) just until it stops buzzing.

    Yeah not always the bridge it could be the neck's tress rod but this should usually only be done by someone with experience.


  2. You can do one of two things: either Google "fret buzz" and attempt a proper set-up yourself, or take it to a guitar shop and have them set it up. Ideally, what you want is low action with no fret buzz. It is not ALWAYS the bridge that causes or solves the problem as you'll discover by reading about fret buzz.

  3. You have a high-centered fret. Bring it into any guitar shop and they'll file it down for you.
