He is a well behaved kid. Will the doctor have a problem with him being there?

  1. I would bring some coloring books and crayons, and just have him sit in the waiting room, while you have your appointment.  He is old enough to sit in the waiting room by himself.  The receptionist will be able to keep an eye on him.

  2. As long as he isn't videotaping, the doctor won't have a problem with it.  Make sure you keep him at your top half.

  3. im sure its okay and i dont think the recetionist will have a problem keeping an eye on him in the waiting room

  4. I don't think the doctor will have a problem with him being there. If you are getting an exam though I would just make sure you cover up good with the little paper sheet the give you. And if you are going to be talking about anything you don't think he should hear just ask him to wait outside the door for a minute.

  5. Yes the doctor WILL have a problem with him being there.  The appointment is for YOU and your son has no business being in the examing room.  You can't leave him in the waiting room because the receptionists and nurses are not babysitters.  Either change your appointment time and day or ask neighbors to watch your son.

  6. yes....let him see EVERYTHING. Sounds like he may end up turning g*y...but at least he won't be knocking up any girls in high school.

  7. No, kids come to stuff like that all the time! The doctor will not mind.   If you or him are embarrassed, he is certainly old enough to sit in the waiting room.  Just have him bring something with to do while he waits.  My daughter is 7, and although we have the same parts and I would let her come in, I would also feel ok if she waited in the waiting room.  You can also just have your son stand next to you, towards your head, so he's not looking down there.  They have the sheet over you, so he won't see anything if he's standing next to you.  This is only if you or him feel uncomfortable.  Otherwise, the doctor shouldn't mind.  What does he care who you bring with on your appointments?

  8. If your Dr is anything like mine he will offer for everyone to see your cervix!

    My poor dad!

  9. Sure, those offices are used to kids coming with their moms.  You can leave him in the waiting room - maybe ask the nurse not to take you to an exam room until the last possible minute.  Or take him to the exam room until the dr comes and then see if he'd want to go to the waiting room - maybe give him a little snack to have.

I don't think I'd really want my kids there for the exam - heck, I don't even want to see that!!!!

  10. Probably not, the doctor probably wont mind at all. If you don't want him to be in the room during the exam you could leave him in the waiting room. Even tell someone at the front desk, so they can keep an eye on him.

  11. I have done that before. My son is 6 just make him sit off to the side of the room. And no my doctor did not care.

  12. I don'tt think it's that appropriate for a child to be in the room. There should be discussion that his young  ears should not be privy to. Are you comfortable letting your son sit in the waiting room with a book or Gameboy once the doctor enters the exam room to begin?

  13. the doctor probably won't but it will probably be very uncomfortable for you and your son i would advise against it

  14. the doctor shouldnt have an issue with it, but do you really want him there, or does he really want to be there. Im sure the nurse will alow him to sit in the waiting room and keep an eye on him for you while you get examed.
