I have a hair dilemma - To cut or not to cut (Looking for a job)?

I have puffy hair, it looks really uncivilized since I can't tie it back or anything yet to atleast make myself presentable. I've been growing it out since june of last year. But at the same time, I need a job, and the chances of me getting one with long puffy hair is almost impossible. Should I cut it and look for a job, or grow it out long enough to tie back before looking for one? I'm 22 in school now and I want long hair while im young.

Cut it to a neat standard then when you have the job start growing back until they tell you to cut it again.
