hey, i just bought a laptop like 3 days ago, and my laptop freezed so i unplugged it. now when i start it, it doesn't let me go in window. it just show a message that said the my hard drive is predicted to fail, that i need to save my file, and that i need to replace the hardrive.

i tried to reinstall the recovery system but it shows the same message over and over. Does anybody know if my hard drive is really dead and if i really need to change it bcause it will really sucks since i just bought it? If so, by installing a new hardrive, will my recovery cd will work? are all the hard drive for notebook the same (i mean will any notebook hard drive will fit mine), is it hard to install and how much will it cost me? i bought my laptop at best buy but i didn't buy any protection plan, do u think that they will fix it for me for free since its a new one?

my notebook is a hp amd turion x2 64.

tks for ur help.

some of u told me that i could exchange my laptop within 14 days. i kind of read the return policy but i see nothing about broken material exchange. do u know if best buy will exchange my notebook even if i don't have a protection plan

  1. If you just bought the machine 3 days ago, by all means take it back to Best Buy and ask for a replacement.   You are also covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

    Good luck to you.
