I have a haro f-3 and i was wondering if i change my sprocket do i have to change my freewheel??

You don't necessarily have to.....if the freewheel is worn out, though, you'll see some chain issues.  The most important part of your drivetrain to keep fresh is the chain itself.  As they wear out, they grow longer and wear out the gear teeth quickly.  If you keep your chain new, your gears will last much longer.   Any bike shop can check it for wear, or you can pick up a tool for this for about $10.  

    If you're changing your sprocket to a larger or smaller one, then yes, you'll probably want to change your freewheel also, so that you can keep your gear ratio.
