I have a heavy duty wooden work bench....can i use this to set my welder on?

Use your welder to make you a table for the welder... You will get good practice plus have a table that will hold it...

Only you know how heavy duty your work bench is and how heavy your welder is. Most people leave them on the shop floor or build a metal frame with wheels to make them portable. I built a small shelf in the corner for my stick welder and have my mig on a rolling stand. If you can lift the welder by yourself , then chances are a microwave cart will hold it. Otherwise use the welder to make yourself a metal stand with wheels on it just in case you need to move it.
