i have a hernia that i have had since i was 18 is there a place were you can go to have it fixed if you dont have medical insurance.

  1. If you have a low income, start searching on the internet for "sliding scale medical" clinic/hospital.  They will adjust your fees based on your income


  2. Go to a teaching hospital. They may fix it for you for free(surgeons in training.)

  3. Sometimes a county hospital will help you, at a reduced rate; or, you can see if you can negotiate the rate in advance.

  4. When I did not have insurance I went to the emergency room for a sprained ankle, and they waived my entire bill because I was not insured. You should call your local hospitals and see if they offer that type of program.
