It is called "Our United States History Book 1: Beginnings Through Reconstruction" by Hilarie Staton, published by Educational Design, Inc. I have looked through Google (Amazon, Half, Ebay, ect.) to find what grade this book is for, but to no avail. If anyone uses this book with their children, please help me. What grade is it for?

  1. I am in agreement with previous responded concerning grade levels.  My son is in the 10th grade and we have assortment of books that we use.  Some are below level and some are above grade level.  If your child can read and understand the book, it is the right grade level.  If your child is interested in the book, it is the right book.

  2. If you can't figure out what grade it's for, try it on your kids anyway. If the material seems to easy, it's probably below their level. If it's a challenge and seems above their level, run with it. Curriculum can be above grade level as long as the child can handle it.

  3. Somewhere on the book there should be an ISBN number.  Use that to look up the book online.  If it's terribly old, Google my be a better choice than Amazon, but you should easily be able to find something using the ISBN number.  You could also call the publisher.

  4. Looking up the author, it seems that the current publisher name is Triumph Learning (they used to be Educational Design) Their website is http://www.testprep.com/ . Their contact info is:

You could try contacting them if you really feel the need to know which grade level it's designed for. As others have said, though, if it works for your child, it really doesn't matter which grade level it is.

  5. look where the bar code is.  there should be a dash at the end of the number and then a single number alone.  this is the grade level

also, look on the binding of the book.  somewhere there should be dots or bullets.  however many there are, that's also the grade level
