  1. You have to turn the eggs over, turning them around 180 degrees won't help.  They must be turned so the chicks don't stick to the shell and assure uniform heating around the egg.  Commercial incubators have trays that tilt from side to side.  You always can turn them by hand.  Put a pencil mark on one side to be sure you get them all turned, the mark will all be up or down on all eggs.  They should be turned three times a day for the first 18 days of incubation, after that no more turning.  As for the boiler thermostat it would be OK as long as it can keep the temperature very steady in the 99 to 103 degree range, so it has to be very sensitive in that range.  Start up the incubator and run it a few days without eggs inside to make sure it is keeping on the right track before spoiling a lot of eggs.

  2. You have to turn the eggs over 3-5 times in 24 hrs every day for the 21 day period it takes to hatch them! Put a x on one side and o on the other and turn them!Or the chick will get stuck to the egg inside. Keep light above the eggs close enough to maintain 102F. Use a room thermometer. Put a pan of water under the light for humidity, and run a fan if you can. Good luck!

  3. Rotating the incubator will not turn the eggs.  You'll have to do that by hand 3-4 times per day until they hatch.
