  1. Putting a heat lamp on your eggs is a good way to kill them. You don't want fried eggs, do you? Eggs are best kept in the dark. Keep them in a warm place. Go to google.com and search using "incubating reptile eggs". There's alot to incubating eggs, and I've answered 100 questions about incubating eggs in the last month or two and don't feel like repeating myself. Good luck!

  2. I'm not sure why the previous poster suggested water.  This is a desert reptile, not an amphibian.  They lay their eggs in the sand.  You don't want the eggs to be wet.

I'd bury them in a thin layer of sand.  Do not turn them.  Place them in the sand oriented exactly as you found them.  Keep them warm but not hot.  I'm sure letting them get damp is okay, maybe even helpful, but don't let them stay damp or wet.

I haven't found anything specifically on what temperature they should be kept at, but you're looking at 2 to 3 months before they hatch -- probably depending on temperature.

Was this female with a male recently?  Are you sure the eggs are fertile?

Many species of desert horned lizards are declining in the wild.  You might check with some zoos and herpetariums to see if they can help with the eggs, or they would be interested in taking them for later release if it's a local species.

  3. do not put too much light! put it in a medium sized bowl and put a small (as in small) pool of water around them. that way thry have light and moisture. make sure the toad does not step on them. PS ur a vry lucky man.
