Okay, so Im about to go into grade 9. For grade 8 I passed math by 4%. I know I have a procrastination problem, I tend to come home, sit on the couch go onto the computer, and just lay around. Any tips for this? And also, I like to listen to music when doing homework...If I do it. Please help me.

  1. same here, really! i'm worried about 9th grade because i've been lazy all summer not finishing my summer reading assignment.

    but i usually deal with procrastination by forcing myself to start ALL assignments as early as possible, no matter what. then i like to enjoy my free time afterwards, while most other people are like, "you're ALREADY done?!" it makes you feel good (:

    i try to do my homework where there are no distractions like computer and tv. i sometimes also listen to music while i do homework, but if you feel that it's slowing you down, maybe you should do your homework without the ipod to get you more focused and working faster.

    and i know this sounds a little nerdy, but i write in my agenda (at my school we're required to buy and use an agenda planner) all of my assignments, then i check each one off when i'm finished doing it. when i feel like i need to be more organized i just give myself a timed schedule for the day. for example, 3:00 - 3:15: eat a snack. 3:15 - 4:15 do math etc. so i can finally watch tv at night rather than be working on homework before its due.

    good luck in school! hope you do great :)

  2. When I was in school ,I used to do all assignments immediately . I'd get them out of my way . Then I'd sit back and laugh at my friends sweating it out because they waited til the last minute , while I was relaxing.

        When I knew I had a test , I'd study no more than 15 minutes a night every night from the time I heard about it ... minimal effort .

      My friends would get tense and nervous because they had to cram at the last minute .

      So , you decide .  Is procrastination worth the grief. There is always plenty of time to lay around and relax after you finish your assignments .

      In college people would get jealous because it seemed I got good marks with much work . What I really did was learn to budget my time so I could relax and not worry about assignments and marks .... THINK  ABOUT IT!

  3. Well, I have a huge procrastination problem too. What I do is unhook the internet, go into my room, and go until I'm done. If I don't do it immediately, I won't do it...I'll just read or something -.-;

  4. i have the same problem... i come home from school and i really don't feel like learning anymore so i just lounge around... watch tv... eat... go on the computer... ect. and then i do my homework right before i go to bed. you just have to make yourself do it when you get home, and tell yourself "if i do this, then i can lounge around and not worry about homework" and also it helps if someone pushes you to do your homework. if no one is telling you to do your homework, then why do it. so maybe ask your parents to tell you to do your homework (i know that sounds kinda nerdy but it works). that way you have someone always telling you to do it... which stops procrastination!

    hope this helped!
