  1. 1.83 ghz per processor for a total working power of 3.66 ghz.  You combine the speed of both processors to get your total working ghz.

  2. 1.83 in both cores.

The cores have independent clocks, Its not around 3 ghz.

Its like 2 separate processors, you are not gluing them together.

Also, processor speed is not measured by clock speed, its measure by cycles per instruction which can be obtained from a common benchmark..

  3. You basically have 2 processors that each work at 1.83gHz.  You do not get to combine them they simple work seperately or together according to if the program your running is multithreaded or not.

    Think of it this way

Your computer is a kitchen and your CPU is the cook.  You have a dual core CPU so you basically have two cooks.  So you can either give each cook a job (processes two applications at once) or you can give each cook part of a job (run a single application on both cores but they each do diffrent parts of it)

Either way gets the job done better than just a single core
