I have a job offer in Abu Dhabi from a premier aviation company and I don't know if I should take it. I also have a offer from the same company in the US. I have a family and I need some advice.

Price of average cars, if I would enjoy it, just general stuff. I would be working on Al Dhafra AB. Thanks

    hope it will help

  3. Well, first of all compare the salary offered in the US with the salary package offered to you in Abu Dhabi, calculate your expenses in the USA and then take into consideration that:

    1. your salary paid in the UAE will be tax free

    2. you will not pay any rent or receive housing allowance*

    3. you will be provided with a rent a car (big surprise if not)

    4. health care for you and your whole family will be provided

*DynCorps and Boing i. e.pay the whole rent. I assume that the company here in Abu Dhabi is sponsored by the UAE Government. Means you will be considered a Government Employee with all the benefits.

Not only your salary will be tax free, the UAE is a tax free country in general. There are "fees". Visa and Labour fees have to be paid by your employer. Utilities like water, gas and electricty are very cheap compared to the US. Also cab rides are very, very cheap. Flat rate for Internet is Dhs 250 and phonecalls within Abu Dhabi from landline to landline are free. Labor is cheap and your wife may enjoy a maid/nanny. There is hardly nothing you would miss because you will get it here also. And what you do not get, you can order online. There are enough guys who have an APO adress.

If you are open minded people, can take heat, like to spend time at nice beaches and cold beer at the weekends at Captain Arm's, you will like it. Regarding the Islamic culture in the UAE you have/should follow certain rules, which is easy to do.

Abu Dhabi has some nice malls incl. foot courts and kids' entertainment. Dubai is just a 1,5 hr drive away and there you can enjoy the biggest malls incl. Ski Dubai.
