I have a job orientation tomorrow and they said i need two forms of id does it have to be picture id?

the only picture i have is a passport. the others i have that don't have pictures on them are a birth certificate,and social security card will those work even though there is no picture on them?

  1. For employment in the U.S. you are required to show one picture ID and your SS card. These will have copies made and filed due to government regulations.


  2. when you start a new job you DO need your social security card.  Your passport will work, as well as a drivers license.  It's always better to be overly prepared, so if you're unsure, bring an envelope with more identification than you may need.

  3. soc card and BC will work. Also a voter registration card, or a credit card is acceptable (probably not for a job though). I would call your place of employment and ask what they prefer to have. Do you have a state ID or DL?

  4. Your passport and another form of ID--probably not your SS card--should be enough.
