I have a jvc model grd244u and i bought a 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cable.?

will i be able to transfer footage i already have on the camcorder to the computer. And how do you transfer footage. Also, where do u put the other 4 pin on the computer.

Your computer needs a firewire/IEEE1394a port. Some computers (Sony laptop, HP laptop) that have firewire ports may have a 4-pin - typically, it is a 6-pin. Macintosh computers have had firewire ports for many years.

When the camcorder is connected to the firewire port on the computer, and with the camcorder in Play/Edit mode, Windows MovieMaker will "capture" the video; Apple iMovie will "import" the video.
