I plug my 4gb ipod nano into my kenwood KDC X491 cd deck which has a usb port on the front. I plug it in and it will play the music i just can't go threw it all with my ipod i have to go threw it on my cd deck by pressing the "next song" button. I'm pretty sure it just a random list of my music in which i have to go threw one at a time.

The thing is isnt there some way to get it so i can go threw my songs on my ipod instead?? Do i need to program my cd deck somehow or do i just need an interely different hook up instead of the usb. I'm not sure it has a Aux jack on the back or not i know it doesnt on the front though.

Oh, and when my ipods plugged in, the screen goes dim and says somethin like do not disconnect.

How do i get it so i can switch threw my songs on my ipod instead of on my deck??

  1. Thats just how it works, you aren't able to control the songs from your iPod once its plugged in. On your stereo there should be somethign called like "list" or something and if you push that, you can then control the songs and playlists and all that just like form your iPod.

  2. you plugin it in via the usb cable? if so it won't work you got to us e the aux plug it in... aux cable ftw........... you can buy a aux jack for the radio maybe if not you might need to buy a new deck,.....

the usd port is for a usb load of songs.. hope this helps
