  1. Do you get this knot while dancing? Is your dance partner male?

  2. here are a couple of good stretches to do

1: sit in a buterfly, and bring the right leg all the way across, so that your right foot is on the other side of your left leg (outside)  use your elbow to turn your upper body the other way, toward the right, and hold for 2 8's, and repeat onthe left. this is called a dancers sit

2: sit with both legs straight in front of you and with your feet pointed, and grab your feet. when you have hold of them, flex them and grab around your toes, and pull. make sure your legs stay straight, other wise this won't help.

3: sit with one leg in passe and the other straight. lean all the way over, reaching your toes, and then hold and repeat on the other side.

make sure you are sitting up on your sitting bones during all these stretches.

    good luck!!!

  3. This might be sciatica (sp?) which probably will not be alleviated with stretching alone, I would go get it checked out by a Dr. or Chiropractor.

  4. Sorry, but stretching is uncomfortable. Everyone is tighter in soem areas than others, so you just have to sit in that stretch for longer for your body to relax into it. Also, don't just stretch when you take class. Stretch every day at home, too.

  5. I get knots from running too much... Try taking a hot bath and relazing and kneading the area. Thats why I do after long runs and it make an unbelievable difference!

  6. if you are looking for a butt stretch, there are 3 that i know of:

    1) sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you. For right butt cheek, bend in your right leg to put your right knee close to your chest. Put your right foot to the other side of your left thigh, and pull (hug) your knee to you. repeat on the other side.

    2) standing up, for right butt cheek, bring your right knee up as high as you can (maintaining balance) and pull up on it with your arms. Repeat on the other side.

    3) standing and holding onto something stable, for right butt cheek, keep your right leg perfectly straight and bring it back as far as possible. Repeat on the other side.

    Hope one of them helps
