and some smoke came out and it stopped. So, I checked the gas: full. I checked the oil: low. I added oil. It then ran well for a while then went putt putt with the plume of smoke and tried to keep itself going, but then stopped. I could restart it again, but it would stop shortly afterwards.

I checked for grass clumps, etc. in the blade and they were clean.

What could be wrong with it?

  1. When was the last time you changed the filter?  It might be clogged.

  2. engine getting hot and seizing up.....you can pay to have it fixed ( 200.00) or go to Sears and buy a new one....

  3. Sounds like the filter is dirty. Mine did the same thing. Clean the filter and see if it works.
