  1. People can be very ignorant and just rude and frankly stupid ('stupid' between us and the wall) regarding people with disabilities or a learning difference or such.  I have a reading comprehension problem myself, and it was very tough in high school as well as (community :) college.  Please try to ignore those j#rks ;)  I like that saying, "slow and steady wins the race" from Aesop's Fables :)  While in college, I got extra time on tests and was able to take exams in a separate room due to my learning difficulty.  I wasn't very comfortable with that notion but if that's what it took to get the grades that I hoped for, it was worth appearing not quite like the rest ;)  Perhaps talk with the school counselor or some type of professional about your feelings too.

  2. Don't be normal, be different.

i have learning disabilities, two in fact, and i get told that.

Don't Listen to everybody else, cause they are jealous of you that's all.

  3. don't listen to what anyone says. God made you special, and for a reason =]] you can write me if u wanna talk??

  4. Many people don't understand learning disabilities. And many kids often make fun of each other sometimes being very mean. I would expect that some day we will stop calling it learning disability and call it learning challenged or better yet, call it nothing and accept people for how they learn and who they are. Your struggles with learning in school happen only because most classrooms use one method to teach and teach everyone the same way. That will never work and makes it extremely hard for many kids to learn. So another way to look at it is -- you are not learning disabled - you are just in a teaching disabled classroom.

  5. forget them....their minds are probably disable.

the only way to really take control of it is to suck it up and get the help you need so you dont have to worry about those people.

  6. That is exactly how I felt, especially in high school.  For me, it got a lot better in college, differences were embraced and valued, and now I am proud to be just who I am.

  7. It might be that you just learn differently to the majority of people or at a different pace. You are not dumb or slow and none of us is normal we all learn differently.

  8. be yourself and don't bother about other people's comments. If need be, educate them where you can.

  9. You ARE a normal person.

ALL persons with Disabilities (PWDs) ARE normal persons including YOU.

  10. We live in a world where people are selfish and never imagine what their lives would be like in someone else's shoes. A learning disability only means you learn differently than others, it doesn't mean your not intellegent. They are the ones who are slow and dumb for not knowing how to be polite and accept others. That is ignorance.

1 out of 6 children today have some sort of learning/behavioral disabilty so you are not alone.

Find a support group where people are going through it, been through it, and even are recovering from it. I go to mdjunction.com - there is a list of disablities where you can specifically choose your condition and join that support group.

    God BLESS
