  1. Hi, I found this list on the internet along with a 1,000 other lists.

All successful people who want to do something extraordinary are called crazy until they show it that it can be done. This is just one example, the first person who presented his idea about going in space by building a rocket was laughed at, even The New York Time called him crazy, then in less than half century later, the first man walked on moon. Then the New York Times apologized.

There are many famous people with learning disabilities. The reason for the following list is to demonstrate that even learning disabilities don't have to prevent you from developing your brain power. Albert Einstein is on this list, and clearly he had something to contribute to science despite his problems. Billionaire Richard Branson says he still couldn't read at age eight, yet went on to found Virgin Airlines and many other businesses. So don't get too discouraged if you have a few problems learning.

    Some People With Learning Disabilities

    (Or Attention Deficit Disorder)

    Albert Einstein

    Nelson Rockefeller

    Galileo

    Thomas Edison

    Sylvester Stallone

    Mozart

    Gen. George Patton

    Wright Brothers

    Leonardo da Vinci

    John F. Kennedy

    Cher

    Whoopi Goldberg

    Bruce Jenner

    Gen. Westmoreland

    Tom Cruise

    Eddie Rickenbacker

    Charles Schwab

    Henry Winkler

    Harry Belafonte

    Danny Glover

    F. Scott Fitzgerald

    Walt Disney

    John Lennon

    Robin Williams

    Steve McQueen

    Greg Louganis

    Louis Pasteur

Of course, not all these famous people have been officially diagnosed with learning disabilities, but they have exhibited many of the signs of ADD, ADHD & LD. The world famous author John Irving tells us, "The diagnosis of dyslexia wasn't available in the late fifties - bad spelling like mine was considered a psychological problem by the language therapist who evaluated my mysterious case. When the repeated courses of language therapy were judged to have had no discernible influence on me, I was turned over to the school psychiatrist."

Woodrow Wilson, the American scholar, statesman, and 28th president of the U.S.A, couldn't read until he was ten-years-old. Actor Anthony Hopkins thought he was a "moron," as a child, because he was so hopeless in school. Jack Horner, the model for the renegade paleontologist Allen Grant in 'Jurassic Park', is now the curator of paleontology at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana and also a professor at Montana State University. He has found more fossils, pioneered more innovative technologies and postulated more theories about dinosaurs than anyone else, and yet doesn't have a University degree, having flunked out of college seven times.

  2. I have a learning disability. I know how frustrating it can be to try your best and still not feel like you are doing well enough.

My story is not unique or special. I was told in high school that I am not college material and I should be happy with working at McDonald's. Well, I went to college (wasn't always easy); I earned my Masters and now work as a consultant in the field of education. There are days that I still sit and wonder how I made it but I am thankful that I stuck with it.

The first thing you need to do is talk to your parents. If you are not receiving special education services, ask your mom or dad to ask for you to be evaluated. If you are already receiving special education services, ask that your mom ask for an IEP meeting. At the meeting you want to be honest with our educational team. Talk about your goals and dreams for the future. At this time, ask if there are any tools that can help you with reading and writing. There are of technology that supports different learning abilities is assistive technology. There are tools that can make learning easier.  http://www.schwablearning.org/resources....

I would also talk to the team about your feelings of frustration over having limited number of friends and see if they can help you with this area. Sometimes role playing, joining a club or doing a committee based project helps.

The second thing you need to do is start believing in yourself. I know it is easier said then done. There are times that I still doubt myself and will always doubt myself. But that shouldn’t stop you. “It is not success that defines you, it is your reaction to failure.”  You are an intelligent person. And just because you struggle with academics do not mean that you will not be a success in life. 35 percent of U.S. entrepreneurs have dyslexia.

Please take a look at these individuals:

Paul Orfalea - founder of Kinko's. He has ADHD and dyslexia. He has written a book talking about his experiences.

Don Johnston - founder of Don Johnston, Inc. He has specific learning disabilities. He has written a book talking about his experiences.

One of my favorite people to read about and read his books is Jonathon Mooney. He is a public speaker and talks to teenagers about being learning disabled. http://jonathanmooney.com/

Here is  a great video of Jonathon Mooney - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7z0VHuao...

Take a listen and see if you can hear yourself in his story. I know for me, I am the female verison of him.

    Feel free to contact me.

  3. awww*huggles* i know how you feel trust me it gets better if you wanna talk just email me xxemoxmetalxx@yahoo.com

  4. It's normal to get down because you aren't as on top of everything as others around you but there's always someone smarter or better in this material world.  If you could give your life to Jesus and study his teaching you would be successful in this life because many will not make that decision and not make the world to come.  Jesus requires you owe no one but to love them.  He takes care of the rest.  Good Luck and God bless!

  5. Well...for starters, you need to stop being so hard on yourself!  Different people have different talents.   You just need to find something that you're good at.   Different people learn at different speeds. We can't all be Albert friggin' Einstien!  No matter what you decide to do... STAY IN SCHOOL!!!  GET YOUR DIPLOMA!!!  trust me, you're gonna need it!
