I got my blood pressure tested today - I was in a room with the machine that squeezed and unsqueezed my arm 6 times. It was incredibly tight and kind of hurt - there was no doctor in the room. Now I have a line (about 2 inches long) of dark spots of blood on my arm. Is that normal?

  1. It isn't supposed to do it,

but it isn't out of the realm of normality

what happened is the pressure cuff had a difficult time

locating your pulse to signal the cuff to start releasing

and caused a slight bruise (raised blood to the surface)
