I have a linksys unsecured wifi hub. How would I know if someone else was accessing it?

  1. Enter 'cmd' into the run commands and type 'net view' press enter key


  2. if you log into the router it may show "attached devices" this is a list of currently attached PCs including any hackers. The simplest thing would be to set up security encryption, without it your are asking for freeloaders to piggy-back on your internet access and potentially view your own files if you have allow sharing

  3. i'm not totaly sure but would a Net usage monitor, not let you see unusual activity?

  4. Unfortuniately, net-view or Network Places won't show everything.

    The best way is to log onto your router and check the DHCP client list.

  5. Doesn't is make more sense to enable the WPA than to worry about finding out who is accessing your unsecured router? It will take a lot less time.
