Question:

I have a list of 1000 words in one column of excel. Is there any way to get them to display all on one line?

And with commas in between each value. Any ideas???

  1. you cant put 1000 words into 1 cell...excel has its limits. i think its only 1024 characters.

    you must want to turn a column into a row?

    but the problem with that, excel 2003 is limited to 256 columns

    - highlight your column (about 250 rows in  the column)

    - copy your column

    - right-click on a blank row (or new blank sheet)

    - click paste special

    - click transpose

    - click ok

    do that 4 times so that you have 4 rows with all your data.  excel 2007 should be able to handle it all in 1 row.

    - click File

    - click save as...

    -  in the bottom "Save as type:" box change it to CSV (delimited)

    (note: CSV stands for comma separated values)

    - then open your file in Word or Notepad or whatever text editor you have.  then you will have your commas between each word or words.

    - i havent ever tried anything this many columns wide.
