The house sets among quite a few trees, and a creek runs nearby. Not fancy at all, but cute

  1. what about a white with some sage green incorporated? It might fit the charming nature of its surroundings.


  2. Generally homes that are in a wooded setting call for more muted colors and softer color schemes since nature itself is very subtle. Green is one of the most difficult colors to use well because there are so many variants. Also since there is so much greenery surrounding your house, if you don't quite get the undertone right, it screams mis-match.. I find that colors which mimic tree bark and stone look fabulous, also stay away from bright white trim unless you have vinyl or vinyl clad windows. Again, softer putty tones of trim look more like the types of whites found in nature. While you can't copy nature since nothing is better than nature itself, you can compliment it and live in harmony. I've written several articles pertinent to your question...
