I have a long haired Chihuahua and he thinks my mom is his owner...?

i no this sounds stupid but he is my dog and i love him with all my heart and i do everything for him yet he still thinks my mom is his owner how can i let him no i am his owner??

Does your mom feed him, let him out to use the restroom, or take him for walks? Your dog might be bonding with your mom if she is the primary caretaker, regardless of who "owns" him. Who "owns" him is only a word, that means nothing to him. You need to show him that you are his leader and hopefully he turn his affections towards you.

But then again, he may just like your mom in a different way then he likes you. There's not much you can do about that and you should at least be happy that there's someone else you can count on to look after him. My dog loves me, but I know she loves my boyfriend in a different way. She never kisses me like she kisses him, but she follows me around like a shadow. I think it's cute she loves him like that. Who am I to tell her "no", only love me.

if you are not home in the day like you go to school,the dog will get used to your mom
