  1. Your stride length is only one part of speed. How many strides can you take in a second?

It is a combination of stride length and the number of strides  you take that determine speed.

So the question should be how fast are you?

Your speed along with your endurance determine which race is best for you.

You should try different races until you find what suits you and  you like to do.

  2. long stride can be good for any event, except maybe the 100.  Probably better suited for long distance events.

How is your turnover?  You can use a long stride, quick turnover to dominate a 400, or if you have long, slower strides, you could do 2mile

  3. Probably the 400 and 800.

  4. a long stride isn't alot of information

every olympic level runner has long strides from 60m-marathon runners.

even the sprinters that are 5"7. they all have short torso's and long legs.

a sub 10.5s 100m sprinter that is 5"7 has a long stride. and probably has the torso length of a average 5"4 person and the legs of a 5"10 person

so having a long stride just means you can be a good runner. doesn't rule you in or out for any race

  5. it depends if your fast.  I used to run the 600m and 800m and it was very helpful having a long stride.  I would stay away from anything shorter then 400m because real sprinters have to have a short stide at first to gain speed.

  6. HOP SKIP & JUMP!!!? :)
