I have 14 at 18 (bad oral health when I was younger) i'm one of the lucky ones in the UK that has a dentist (thanks Labour) but after eating some chewing gum I broke my molar tooth & another tooth at the other side of the mouth & another break where the tooth was refilled only a few months ago.

I alway brush these days, mouthwash but this is just frustrating now. I don't want too be 28 & lost all my teeth. my teeth are white but a bit yellow, i'm just scared about losing my teeth & embarrassed when I go back to the dentist & show him the three broken teeth, i must have the worst teeth ever at 18?

  1. Well if it makes you feel any better, one of my cousins has a whole bunch of caps on her molar teeth already and she's only five!  One thing to remember about molars is you can't see them when you smile.  Usually people look at your smile first.  It would be pretty tough to figure out that you had bad molars unless you yawned or opened your mouth really wide while close to them.

You should try and find a Fluoride rinse you can use.  That will help harden and strengthen the teeth you still have.  About all you can do for your back molars is either a Partial or expensive implants.

  2. haha you defiently dont have the worst teeth ever at 18...think of some of 18 yr old guy there who has had all the problems youve had - plus a few more and HASNT gone to his dentist at all to get them fixed!

anyways, all you can do is form now on to take good care of your teeth. good job on the brushing and using moutwash.. dont forget to floss! seriosuly!

  3. Talk to your dentist and ask what you can do to help prevent more tooth problems. They may suggest a different mouthwash, toothpaste, type of toothbrush, etc. Do you floss? In between teeth is where a lot of cavities start, flossing is very important. Are you clenching during the day or grinding your teeth at night? They can give you an appliance to prevent that. Maybe your teeth aren't meshing together correctly when you chew, they can fix that. Do you get enough calcium? Make sure you do.

Don't be embarrassed to go to the dentist! If he's a jerk about it, so what, just ignore him. If you ask for help, most will likely be helpful and want to give you advice. Go back soon so no more damage will happen to those teeth!

Most likely you can have your teeth whitened, ask your dentist for advice, you might want to try an at-home kit. If you have sensitive teeth, be careful with at home whiteners, use the weaker kind, put a little vasoline on your gums to protect them.

I know how you feel. I have sort of bad teeth genetically and my parents made sure we brushed and took good care of our teeth, but they are cavity prone. They look great, people always tell me they want teeth just like mine. I tell them, no you don't. I'm sure your teeth aren't the worst, here in the US lots of people have very bad teeth!

    Go to the Dentist!
