  1. You can, sort of. There are online places that you have enter the IBN number (the number above the barcode of the book or in the details page). They'll give you an estimate of what they're willing to pay for the book. Now I know what your asking for is a bit different, but its the fastest thing you can do. An alternative would be to go to book stores (small ones, not big chain ones like Borders or Barnes and Nobles) and ask the clergies.

  3. A good site for this is www.addall.com. It's sort of meta searcher for rare/used books and you can sort by price.  Make sure and use the "search used books" search form.

    This is just a preliminary way to check value since each book's real value depends on condition and demand....But it's quick and easy, plus they have fun and ever-changing literary quotes on the results pages.
