I have a lot of preasure in my power steering preasure line, is that ok?

on my Chevy 350 engineThe power steering preasure line is very presurized. Is this normal? I mean like rock hard! Yet the return line isnt very presurized at all. I just put in all the power steering components! Please professional answers only! Thank you very much

Absolutely it should have alot of pressure, You have a hydraulic pump pumping that line full of pressure, after the pressures been spent it returns to the reservoir through the return line.
