I have a lottery ticket from ireland and I am in the US.... ?

When i try to call the the number to claim my prize it tells me that it is not necessary to dial a zero before the local number to complete the international call. The probelm is that the number I need to call to claim my prize begins with a zero. how do i call the number?

The number probably starts with 01, right?

You need to dial the international dialing code, then 353, then 1, then whatever comes after the number 1 that you have on the ticket.

You could probably look for an e-mail address on www.lotto.ie too.

You have to drop the zero

If for example the International Dialing code is 44 and the number your Trying to phone is 01914446666

Then you need to dial 44191 etc etc

If the Irish number is for instance 0870 999 999

The international dialling code from the USA to the Republic of Ireland is 011 353 so the number you would ring is as follows

011 353 870 999 999

Dial the international calling code then drop the zero of the local number that you're calling

Edit:  yes the dialling code for the Republic of Ireland is usually 00353 but for some reason the USA puts 011 before the dialling code, they do the same with the UK one.  If we're wrong, I'm sure the questioner will be more then happy to let us know.

forget all them answers ^, i lived in america for years and the code you need is 011 353 then drop the 0 at the begining of the no. they gave you

the above people are WRONG...the dialing code to Ireland is 00 353

So, dial 00 353 then drop the first 0 and dial the rest of the number which is probably a dublin number...

so 00 353 1 8364444

its 00 353 and then the number but drop the 0 i know because i am irish and i was in america and we dialled that way and it worked!
