im 21 years old and ive had it for some time now. at first i was worried that i might have testicular cancer, so i consulted my aunt who is a doctor and she said that if it were cancer, i would have many more symptoms besides just a lump. it hasnt grown any, but it causes temporary irritation from time to time.I dont want to have it forever, and idk how to get rid of it. the idea of a doctor checking my balls kinda freaks me out, but if necessary, i will go. any help regarding what i mentioned above? PLEASE?

  1. Schedule a physical with your doctor for them to check it out, it would be weird to have your aunt checking your balls wouldnt it?

They will tell you whats up.

  2. It is worrying that your aunt said that if she is a doctor.

    She is WRONG.

Cancer, particularly early cancer, doesn't always cause pain.

    See another doctor.

  3. I would definitely suggest going to a doctor - if you have no other symptoms other than irritation sometimes, then it's more than likely not serious - but it should be checked out...

  4. just go to your doctor. they are the one to tall you was is going on, just go in and say that your worried and you would like some answers i go to my doctor all the time and he is very help full

  5. A testicular lump that doesn't hurt may be a sign of cancer. Most cases of testicular cancer occur when men are between ages 15 and 40, although it can happen at older or younger ages.

Here are some possible causes of a painful t******e:

    Injury or trauma

    Epididymitis

    Infection of the scrotal sac

    Mumps

    Orchitis (testicular infection)

    Testicular torsion

    Testicular cancer

Spermatocele (a cyst-like mass within the s*****m that contains fluid and dead sperm cells)

Varicocele (a varicose vein along the spermatic cord)

Here are some possible causes if the t******e is not painful:

    Testicular cancer

Hydrocele (fluid collection in the s*****m)

    Varicocele

    Spermatocele

Loop of bowel from a hernia

  6. Just go to a PROPER doctor who will actually examine you. (Your aunt sounds at best a poor doctor - real doctors always question, then examine, then investigate and treat)

You could have something harmless or you could be sitting on a timebomb, the only way you will be sure is to be examined by a trained professional.

  7. I'm not sure. All I know is that the lump is a sign of it. But I would go to a doctor.

  8. If the lump is 'on' your balls (vs. within your ball sack, or the nut itself) then you probably have a cyst.  If by irritation, you mean itching or redness, then it's especially doubtful it's cancer.  Trust me on this: it only feels weird the first time a doc examines your balls.  It's no big deal, really, and I realized it was silly of me to feel that way.  Yup, see the doc for further advice and remedy.  Good luck.

  9. Son, just go the the doctor.

  10. My boyfriend has one too i keep tellin him to go get it checked out but he hasnt...glad to hear there are supposed to be more than that symptom...i'm not sure how well u know your doctor but you may want to consider asking another doctor to give their opinion.
