I have a mac osx and whenever i try to play a dvd it says"supported disc not available" what does this mean?

  1. You may download VLC player for a try, it's a nice DVD player for Mac.

    Or you can convert your DVD to MP4 or MOV video, then you can play it with quicktime player. If you don't know how to convert DVD on Mac, here is a step by step guide for you

  2. It means that it cannot play DVDs.  You may be missing the software or, more likely, just have a CD reader.  Having mac osx is immaterial as it is a hardware issue.

  4. does it have a DVD reader?  it might just be CD's, does it play CDs okay??
